Well, Merry Christmas everyone. I hope it was a wonderful one for everyone. It certainly was for me. It really was a Christmas where I really didn't care so much what I got at all. I know its an easy think for everyone to say, "oh, I don't care what I get," but I think that if they didn't get anything at all, they would feel mighty left out. Of course I did get some wonderful presents, and better yet, I got what I really wanted, and that was for Sara (aka Queen Sara) to be home and getting better for Christmas. That is what is what I wished for most, and to be honest, this has been the best Christmas ever to know that she is safe home again after all her trips to the hospital and recovering after such an ordeal.
This Christmas has also felt a bit of a return to other (though connected) things in my life, things that help to ground me in an ever increasingly worrisome and busy world. My Aunt gave me the CD collection of the BBC dramatization of The Lord Of The Rings, it is something that I would listen to for hours as a child, it is a wonderful experience to do it again and own them finally, and find that they still thrill and entertain me.
Incidently, the other thing that I really wanted I did get too! lol. And that was an espresso machine. As you can see in this picture. Also some great, great, music. I don't have any of Mary Hopkin's music, so I was really glad to get some, she was a Welsh singer during the 60's, and was 'found' and had much of her early work produced by Paul McCartney. She has an absolutely beautiful voice, and there are some wonderful songs on the CD, as well as some I know. Then of course, I got some Viking toy soldiers! Not dollies, not action figures, toy soldiers, the pastime of gentlemen. And great fun for wargaming. Yep, that's it. Its is a wonderful Christmas. I hope it was for everyone else too. My love goes out to all of y'all. Especially Sara. :)
Merry Christmas everyone!
